Maintaining a healthy body is essential. The pandemic has reached all parts of the globe and until now we still see the increasing numbers of
Covid-19 cases. Even some of our local celebrities were infected by this virus just like the versatile actress Iza Calzado.
Actress Judy Ann Santos is hosting a new talk show entitled “Paano Kita Mapapasalamatan”. In its first episode the show featured Iza Calzado’s scary battle against the coronavirus. She shared during her interview that it all started with just a simple cough.
“Ang dami-dami ng nangyari sa buhay ko. Ang dami ng hirap na pinagdaanan. Sabi ko, hindi dito magtatapos to. Hindi
Covid ang magpapatiklop sa akin,” Iza said.
During the interview, she also shared the hardships she experienced when she was young. Her mother had mental health issues and her father had another woman, a traumatic experience for a child. When she was 19 years old, her mother passed away and her father also left this world when she met Ben Wintle, her husband now.
Today Iza lives with her husband Ben, her 16-year old brother Sean, and her loyal house helper, Donna.
When Donna’s family found out what happened to Iza, they asked her to go home. Donna opted to stay with Iza and her brother. She was also scared of the virus, and also scared of being infected but she still chose to stay.
“So nung sinabi nya sa akin yun and narealize ko na pinili nyang magstay, pinili niya yung pamilya namin, malaking bagay yun para sa akin,” Iza added during her interview.
The actress was really touched and moved with her house helper’s act of kindness and loyalty. Iza gave Donna a gift, a symbol of her gratitude, the key to their house.
“Pinatunayan mo na hindi lang employer – employee ang relationship natin. Posibleng maging isang pamilya tayo at dahil dun ay sana tanggapin mo ang isang simbolo na ibibigay ko sayo. Ito ang susi ng bahay, bahay natin to.”
