Being away from your family is actually one of the worst heartbreak one can go through. We cannot always come to their comfort when we are up to something since they aren’t physically there for us.
But then, working overseas is always a choice and these choices are for the better. It is a risk someone has to take to be able to provide for the family, waiting to be upheld from poverty, hoping to live a comfortable life.
But then, not all family members appreciate the effort you made. Others even let you feel that they aren’t grateful, others even a***e you. Caring only for the allowance and allotment they receive from you.
They only care about the money you sent but never of the hardships and loneliness you are enduring just so you could give them everything they need.
This story of a Filipina nurse will break you heart, especially if you are an OFW or someone who has a family member who works overseas.
She shared of how painful his brother’s messages were, after she failed to spend money when he wanted to purchase car. He demanded so much from his sister, he also said a lot of very hurtful words to her, even calling her “selfish” for not being able to give him what he wanted.

The post of has gone viral and has gained a lot of comments from the netizens, siding with the Filipina nurse. They also left a lot of messages saying that it was never the Filipina’s fault, it was just because her brother was ungrateful and that it was never her obligation to buy his brother something that he doesn’t even deserve.
When an OFW leaves the country, they hoped and prayed that their job could provide their families everything they need, such as food, enough money for studies, or any other necessary things. OFWs wished they could give you almost everything, but then these ungrateful family members just wanted too much which the salary of the OFW cannot even afford.
I hope this will open the minds of those family members that do not appreciate their love ones effort. Give importance to the things they give you, even though no amount of money can ever replace the love and affection we all crave, but for those people, they will give their all just so they could let you feel how much they love, thus might as well appreciate this things before its too late.
